I know everyone is sick of hearing about Tim Tebow . . . but I'm not. I love the guy. I love the way he plays. I love his character. I want to see more. Analysts everywhere have taken a stand. They either love him or hate him. Those who hate say the Broncos have won in spite of Tebow. Really?
I believe Tebow has won in spite of what he's been given. Let's get real for a moment. The Broncos were 1 - 4 before Tebow got the starting nod. Their are more problems than just the quarterback when you are 1 - 4.
I watched the Patriots Broncos game tonight Tebow never stood a chance. This wasn't the first Broncos game I've watched this season. Willis McGahee was great. Beyond that, the TEAM looked awful. This defense has probably been the most overrated defense in a long time. They were 24th in points allowed per game. All the anti-Tebow people always said give credit to the defense. They didn't deserve it.
The offensive line was just as bad in pass protection. Run blocking and pass blocking are completely different things. The Broncos line does a great job of run blocking. Tebow never had time to step up in the pocket, even if he had wanted to. He was under constant pressure from one of the worst defenses in the league.
The receivers aren't superstars. I've seen several dropped balls from Broncos receivers. Give him some great targets and then start having him throw. Thomas has good speed and is a good 2 or 3 receiver. They don't have a number 1 receiver on their roster.
Tebow has a lot of room to grow. I don't deny that. He had a 34% completion rate. That's not very good. However, with the team around him, he shouldn't win any games. The run game protected the defense. The Broncos ran more because they didn't believe Tebow could throw and because he is a great runner. The Broncos should have ran from the beginning. Tebow made clutch plays that when he was given the opportunity by his teammates. He is a leader and a winner. I just hope that he is given a greater opportunity the next time around.
